Lawson Stanford Lawyers always provide ongoing cost updates and estimate to our clients, which means you can make informed and confident decisions at each stage of your matter.
Shortly after your first consultation, you will receive a Disclosure and Costs Agreement from us. This will outline our anticipated legal costs if your matter is
- settled by negotiated agreement
- settled by dispute resolution
- proceeded to court.
If your matter is proceeded to the court, you will receive costs notice listing your actual legal costs and estimated future costs before every court event.
Our family law team is small but reliable and stable. Your work will be completed by the lawyer you know and trust, and your legal costs will be paid for the work you are satisfied.
Every matter is different, and there are factors that can increase legal costs for clients, including the attitude adopted by the parties, the complexity of the issues in the case, court delays and the engagement of third parties such as expert witnesses or valuers.
Fixed fee solution for certain family law services
To provide certain, ease and transparency about the costs of your matter, we offer a fixed fee solution for certain family law services below:
- Initial Consultation (60-minute): $300 plus GST
- Sole/joint divorce application without affidavit under the same roof or substitute service: $1,200 plus GST and disbursement
- Add-on affidavit for separation under one roof required: $400 plus GST
- Add-on substituted service required: $800 plus GST
- Financial agreements with family net assets pool value below 2 million:
- Drafting: from $3,000 plus GST
- Reviewing: from $2,500 plus GST
- Extra property transfer required (per property): $1,200 plus GST and disbursement
- Applications for consent orders
- Property and financial orders only without splitting superannuation: $2,800 plus GST and disbursement
- Parenting orders only: $2,600 plus GST and disbursement
- Both property, financial and parenting orders without splitting superannuation: $4,200 plus GST and disbursement
- Extra superannuation splitting orders and document: $600 plus GST plus disbursement
- Child support agreement: $1,600 plus GST and disbursements
- Parenting plan: $2,000 plus GST and disbursements
